What to expect during your new patient exam
Luxiam Chiropractic is a Subluxation-Based, Results-Driven office, we use functional measures to assess your current state and expect results.
The first visit is approximately 60 minutes long. This appointment will consist of consultation, full spinal analysis, functional movement screening , bio-structural examination and digital x-rays.
On your second visit the doctor will explain to you their analysis of the assessment and discuss what are the best steps moving forward to meet your health goals. You will be able to discuss which financial options best meet your needs. You will then receive your first specific chiropractic adjustment.

Q: How much does the initial exam cost?
A: Our initial chiropractic functional analysis will take approximately 60-minutes to complete from start to finish. This exam will include a consultation, full spinal analysis, functional movement screening , bio-structural examination and digital x-rays. The cost of the full exam, x-rays and doctors report is $380. Don’t let price be a deterrent, at Luxiam Chiropractic we make sure people get the care they need. Following the exam and any necessary x-rays, we will design a custom care plan just for you.
Q: What is a subluxation?
A: A subluxation is when one or more bones of the spine have increased tension or compression and cause interference to the communication of the nerve system and other structures. When the nerves are in an irritated state they can cause symptoms such as: pain, heat, swelling, tenderness, tingling, burning, and numbness. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you may be suffering from a very correctable subluxation.
Q: Will the doctor be adjusting me on the first visit?
A: No. Due to the specific nature of the adjustment, Dr. Shain must analyze and measure your X-rays before any adjustment can take place. The X-ray analysis takes about 30 minutes to complete, and Dr. Shain can have these finished by the next day he is in the office. Mamas and babies are almost ALWAYS worked on during the first visit since.
Q: Does your office take x-rays? Why?
A: With the exception of pregnant mothers and young children, yes. We take specialized x-rays in order to determine a patient’s listing. This listing determines the type of adjustment the patient needs in order to clear out their subluxation. X-rays allow us to avoid any guessing as to how to correct your subluxation. All x-rays are developed digitally to eliminate the use of film and chemicals. You will receive a copy of your x-rays upon request at no additional cost.
Q: How old does my child need to be before taking them to a chiropractor?
A: We recommend that children be checked from birth – All births whether long or short, natural, assisted or cesarean can put a lot of pressure on your baby’s spinal cord and nervous system. Even the baby’s position in the womb can have an early effect on spinal alignment. When these tiny infants begin to grow, learn to crawl, and eventually walk, freshly developed motor patterns often lead to numerous slips/falls, bumps, and bruises. Chiropractic adjustments are crucial to helping keep kids in alignment through these fast changing years.
Q: I’m pregnant, is it safe to see get adjusted?
A: Absolutely. Dr. Shain is Webster Certified. We also have special pillows and tables to create ease for pregnant women to get adjusted throughout all stages of pregnancy. Getting adjusted can create better birth outcomes, easier, faster labors, and optimal positioning and nerve supply for baby as he/she grows and develops. Got pain? Q: How do I know if chiropractic care is for me?

Q: Does Luxiam Chiropractic accept insurance?
A: For patients who have an insurance plan that covers chiropractic care, we provide a “superbill” which has all of the diagnostic codes that your insurance needs to see in order to provide you reimbursement for the services we provide.
Q: What if I am a medicare patient?
A: That is okay. Luxiam Chiropractic accepts medicare patients.
